Environment Centre Swansea

Project Aim

The Environment Centre is an independent charity (Charity no. 1039378), with a focus on environmental information, education and activity in South West Wales. We have worked with schools for the last 17 years.


What does the project entail

Plan-it Eco interactive talks to KS2 pupils upwards in February, May and November.  

Talks include ‘World Within Your Shoe’ - A journey to discover the importance of the tropical rainforests’, ‘Fireskies’ - An exciting look at our own environment, ‘Blue Ocean Blues’- Enter a unique environment and explore the wonders of the deep and ‘Creating Tomorrow Today’ – mini conference.


Nature Days fieldtrips to Crymlyn NNR, Oxwich, Caswell Bay.  Fieldtrips designed by Dawn Thomas for parties of 30 children from FP, KS2 and 3, GCSE and A level.


INSET and Adds sessions on various aspects of ESDGC including ESDGC Policy and Practice, Nature and wildlife, environmental art and Adds on Literacy and Numeracy in the outdoors.

What is required from the school?

Phil Williams Plan-it Eco – power socket for laptop and projector.


Nature Days fieldtrips – individual field trips will require specific instructions.


Various locations for INSETs and Adds sessions.

How do the pupils directly benefit?

Plan-it Eco interactive talks cover many topics in the national curriculum and for a number of subject areas. Teacher/lecturer follow up packs are supplied free of charge. The programmes can be adapted to include related topics to those being taught in the classroom.


Nature Days fieldtrips covers aspects of the Cornerstones Skills Curriculum.
