Swansea City AFC Community Trust - Healthy Together

Project Aim

The aim of the project is to support families in Swansea to lead a healthier lifestyle, and to increase the knowledge of healthy eating and importance of physical activities.

What does the project entail

We can offer to attend events or possibly do one off taster sessions. We can possibly run a 12 week family programme from schools if there is interest from the families.

What is required from the school?

If we were to run a programme we would require a class room and a hall for two hours after school and for them to give out leaflets (supplied by us) to promote the session to recruit families

How do the pupils directly benefit?

We aim to improve the health and wellbeing of the families that we work with by supporting them to understand their knowledge and understanding of the importance of being healthy.

Evidence shows that eating a healthy diet and being active can help improve childs concentration, Children who eat breakfast are less likely to overeat later in the day,

Regular physical activity can also relieve tension, anxiety, depression and anger.
